Strong Start
An Irish Coffee riff. New York bartender Troy Sidle blends génépy and heavy cream to give this a complex herbal punch.
Ingredients:
- ½ oz Demerara Gum Syrup
- 1 ½ oz dark rum
- 8 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
- 1 oz génépy (or Chartreuse)
- 3 oz cold heavy cream
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
- Combine coffee, rum, and syrup in mug
- Combine génépy, heavy cream, and salt in shaker, and shake to make génépy cream
- Top with génépy cream
- Express orange peel over top
