Missionary's Downfall
The Missionary's Downfall is another star from the early days of the US tiki craze. Developed in the late 1930's by Donn Beach for his Donn the Beachcomber restaurant in Hollywood, this rum-based cocktail features an extremely enticing combination of peach liqueur, pineapple syrup, honey, and mint.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Pineapple Gum Syrup
- 1 oz light rum
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- ½ oz peach liqueur
- ¼ oz honey syrup (2:1 honey:water)
- 6-8 fresh mint leaves
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
- Add ice and shake for 10 seconds
- Strain into a highball glass over crushed ice
- Garnish with a mint sprig
