Crossing State Lines
Inspired by Meaghan Dorman’s ‘Getaway Car,’ which is a fun riff on a Jungle Bird. Tequila and ancho liqueur are very complementary - just as the rum and Demerara Gum Syrup are. Together these heavy flavor pairings are lengthened with pineapple juice to keep this one an easy drinking sipper.
Ingredients:

½ oz Demerara Gum Syrup
- 1 oz aged rum

½ oz Ancho Reyes Ancho liqueur

½ oz reposado tequila
- 1½ oz fresh pineapple juice
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 dash of mole bitters
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
- Add ice and shake hard for 10 seconds
- Strain into a highball glass filled with ice
