Basil Julep
Pick a high-character Irish Whiskey - something with rich, oily spice notes to pull down the basil's volatile peppery aroma.
Ingredients:
- ¼ oz Classic Gum Syrup
- 2 oz Irish Whiskey
- fresh basil
Instructions:
- Muddle 2-3 basil leaves with gum syrup in a mixing glass
- Add Whiskey and ice and stir for 20 seconds
- Strain into a chilled rocks glass or julep tin
- Garnish with basil
