Don's Own Grog

An exceptional but somewhat forgotten tiki classic! From Don The Beachcomber, ca. 1937. Unique in its use of blackberry liqueur - Real Grenadine and demerara sugar bring a rich dose of fruitiness. Break out the premium rums here folks!

• ¼ oz Demerara Gum Syrup
• 1 barspoon Real Grenadine
  
• 1 oz aged rum (Plantation 5 year recommended)
  
• ½ oz light rum (Plantation 3 Stars recommended)
  
• ½ oz Hamilton 86 demerara rum
  
• ½ blackberry liqueur
  
• ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters

• Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
• Add ice and shake hard for 10 seconds
• Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice
